Songs
1st Movement
People exalt songs of voices
Which does soothe the soul
And also to praise the Eternal,
Who indeed is worthy of all praise.
Alas! Such song require skill
Or was it natural talent?
What of those who have neither?
Will no songs come from them?
But the Eternal doth create all with voices,
To sing also songs with no physical melody.
Ah! The song of the gospel!
Sweet indeed is its melody!
Christ started its symphony,
The apostles sang it thru eternity
Oh, how I wish to be bold as them!
To sing this song in every land,
To pay the price of this melody,
To suffer even till death.
Such a song of great worth!
Never will your symphony cease!
Sing on, soldiers of God!
Sing on, till death!
2nd Movement
Behold to the song of scripture!
Sweet indeed is its words,
Full of nourishment,
For soul and body.
But sharp indeed is its pitch
Piercing all hearts who hear
The Spirit’s sword doth sing
In tune with this song.
Its tune is melodious,
Rising over the cacophony
Of heresy and falsehood
Mouthed my perverse men.
Ah! Everlasting song!
Your notes will be kept,
Writ by the Eternal,
For all eternity.
Coda
Ah! Such are the songs
Which men set aside,
Men who call on Him,
Lord, Lord, Lord.
They do exalt physical melody.
Deifying those who are masters.
Second class servants
Are those who are unable.
But I will remember the songs.
I will cherish them in my heart.
I will learn these songs.
I will sing it till eternity!
